Types of Ship Unloaders
Ship unloaders come in various designs, each suited for specific materials and operational requirements. The most common types include:
Grab-Type Unloaders – These utilize a crane with a clamshell bucket to scoop up bulk materials and deposit them into a hopper or conveyor system.
Continuous Ship Unloaders (CSU) – Featuring a screw, bucket elevator, or pneumatic system, these machines provide a continuous flow of material, making them more efficient than grab-type unloaders.
Pneumatic Unloaders – Used primarily for fine powders and grains, these systems use air pressure or vacuum suction to transport materials through pipelines.
Bucket Chain Unloaders – These systems use a continuous bucket chain to lift materials out of a ship’s hold and transfer them to conveyors.
